I believe the journey of designing a building is just as important as the final product. Instead of showing only polished photos of completed spaces, here you can explore a selection of past, current, and upcoming projects—giving you a look at how I design for real life as projects are actively underway.

Just like a construction site, this page is an active work in progress. Check back frequently to see new project layouts, 3D models, and project updates as they happen.

Arizona Affordable Housing Initiative

Standardized Regional Housing Programs & Production Role

While Ground Up Architecture serves private custom residential and commercial clients, a significant portion of my practice is currently dedicated to the production and code adaptation of programs established under Arizona Senate Bill 1529 (SB1529). Working in close partnership with Mark Rogers, Architect—who holds the program design IP—I serve as the primary technical drafting force managing the complex implementation of these regional housing initiatives across Arizona.

Key Jurisdictional Programs Included in This Initiative:

  • “Home of My Own” Program – Yavapai County, Navajo County, Town of Taylor, & Town of Pinetop-Lakeside

  • “Home Sweet Home” Program – City of Show Low, Town of Snowflake, & City of Apache Junction (ADU Set Only)

  • “Welcome Home Winslow” Program – City of Winslow

  • “Pinal Leading Affordable Neighborhoods” Program – Pinal County

My Role & Scope of Work:

  • Technical Execution & Drafting: Transforming core architectural concepts into comprehensive, permit-ready construction document sets approved for public distribution.

  • Code Adaptation & Local Compliance: Modifying master plans to meet localized structural requirements, including varying snow loads, high-desert wind conditions, and specific jurisdictional ordinances.

  • Program Development & Expansion: Managing active updates for municipal programs, including the current rollout for the City of Show Low and the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside. This includes preparing for the upcoming expansion of pre-approved duplex and triplex master plans to align with the state’s multi-family mandates.

Governments trust this partnership to deliver flawless, code-compliant templates because owner-builders and contractors rely on them. I bring that exact institutional precision, deep understanding of Arizona building codes, and municipal-level scrutiny to every private custom home, accessory dwelling unit (ADU), and commercial remodel I design.

Interested in modifying one of the program plans?

Any modifications to the plans provided by these jurisdictions require a complete resubmittal as a custom home plan. For a fee, I can modify the official master files to fit your specific needs or property layout. Because I drafted the original program sets, utilizing my services will save you significant time and ensure your custom adjustments seamlessly clear local building departments.
